Personal Advisors developed good networking opportunities across the city attending city wide meetings, forums promoting effectively the Connexions Service and the effective role of the PA.

Promotional work undertaken by young people involved designing of publicity which is given out by workers and has an appointment section. Other agencies have used this to show to young people as an example of good practice. In our annual report for this year young people were able to contribute about services etc.

Young people working on a one to one with PA are involved in setting up their own action plan and in total control of any changes. A full programme of activities including PAYP, drop-in, centre based, group work, specialist issue based work and accredited courses e.g. YAA are available for young people to access by chose. For those who need counselling support we have a young person’s counsellor.

The development of BARCA Leeds Access Point has been extremely successful from which young people and other agencies can access all relevant services. Planning and timing of services run to meet the needs of the young people.

Personal Advisors have undertaken a wide range of training opportunities such as Data Protection, CCIS, Equality and Diversity, Safe guarding young people, Personal Safety, Working with young people and Mental Health etc. Both Personal Advisors are working towards gaining a professional qualification.
