Minister makes visit to BARCA-Leeds
A GOVERNMENT minister has helped a Leeds community organuistion launch its website. Hilary Armstrong, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Social Exlusion, was at the event for Barca-Leeds in Bramley. She saw how the charity works and met workers from the harm reduction and community drugs treatment services. She also spoke to servies users and visited a project on Broadlea Hill, Bramley, the youth Inclusion project which supports young people at risk of becoming involved with crime. Barca-Leeds runs schemes for young people in the Bramley and Rodley areas, focusing on education and personal development. Please click here to download Hilary's letter of Thanks

West Leeds Youth Bank has been awarded funding
West Leeds Youth Bank has just been awarded £10k over the next two years, to be used towards publicity, promotion, IT equipment and distribution in grants from Youth Bank Uk. The Inner West area committee has also approved funding for distribution. This will provide the youth Bank panel with an additional £5000 to distribute to groups of young people for positive and meaningful activities which will benefit young people and their communities. BARCA-Leeds Connexions Event, Thursday 26th July 2007, Pudsey Crawshaw School, 1-3pm.
The BARCA-Leeds Connexions event will offer employment, education and training opportunities for young people aged 13-19.
