Barca-Leeds Youth Work practice is supporting young people to identify, reimagine and create improved systems that address systemic injustice and inequity. Working in areas of Leeds where school exclusion/absence and transitions in adolescence are leading to increased gaps in opportunity and risks to young people’s ability to thrive; their experience led work aims to shape decision making, lead and drive positive change in policy and practice to help create a fairer more inclusive future. This practice document reviews the contextual environment of their practice, the gains made so far and the next stages required to develop their practice.
