The Pause 4 Menopause toolkit is aimed at men to help them understand and provide support for someone going through the stages of the menopause.
Originally developed as part of Menopause Awareness Month in 2023, the toolkit features a range of information alongside quotes from West Leeds residents on their experiences of menopause. It was developed with local groups and compiled by Barca-Leeds, West Leeds Primary Care Network, TCV Hollybush, New Wortley Community Association and WomenZone.
The toolkit has been used by the Better Together team to support delivery of community outreach and awareness raising events designed to start open conversations about the menopause. It has also been distributed by the Public Health Resource Centre in Leeds, with local organisations, community groups and health practitioners using and sharing the toolkit.
Menopause Awareness Month takes place each year during October and encompasses World Menopause Day on 18 October to raise awareness, break the stigma and highlight the support available for improving health and wellbeing for those experiencing menopause.
