Schools Counselling 2024-25 Impact

As the 2024-25 academic year comes to a close, our Schools Counselling team look back over the school year and all their dedicated work providing one to one counselling. The team delivered 3,400 sessions over the year, supporting 428 children and young people to improve their social, emotional and mental health.

Of the children and young people supported:

  • 90% made positive changes
  • 100% felt listened to
  • 99% said the sessions were helpful

Young people who accessed the service said:

“Counselling has helped improve my relationship with my mum and dad” 
“It has been really good and you have helped me a lot with making friends, being positive and everything that I was finding difficult.” 
“You have given me new ways to look at things and I can handle things better.” 
“This has helped me understand why I feel the way I do, understand healthy relationships, get respect for myself and stand up for myself. I will really miss these sessions but I will use everything I learnt in my future.“
“These sessions have given me so much confidence to be able to go out and do things I struggled to do before. I feel like I understand how I feel better and accept that it is ok.” 

Parent and carers of children who were supported by the service said:
