Young People's Emotional Regulation Toolkit

As part of our Safe Schools project, we developed an Emotional Regulation toolkit that features information and activities designed to support young people to better understand their emotions.

The toolkit has tools and information to support young people's mental health including ways to manage their emotions positively for example: breathing and grounding exercises, body mapping and how to recognise their triggers.

Available as an A6 foldout, this useful tool has been utilised by our teams working with young people in schools and community settings including one to one support and groups. Copies are also handed out to young people during school assemblies delivered by the Safe Schools team, with over 2,500 young people taking a toolkit home in 2022/23.

“I enjoyed going through the toolkit with my worker. I found it really helpful, especially to help calm me down. I have taken 5 of them for friends.”
