Celebrating Black History Month 2025

Every October, we mark Black History Month to celebrate and honour the contributions of Black Britons across the UK and throughout history. First celebrated in the UK in 1987, Black History Month has been celebrated across the UK ever since. This year’s theme, 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride’’ focuses on the resilience, strength and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe.

On 22 October 2025, our Respect@Barca staff group organised an inclusive staff event to bring colleagues together to celebrate Black History Month. At the event conversations were shared over a delicious lunch featuring a range of cuisines. Our teams tested their knowledge and learnt a few new facts at our Black History quiz and we celebrated Black culture with books, traditional African clothing and music.
