Impact Report 2024-25

We are pleased to share Barca-Leeds Impact Report 2024-25!

This publication highlights our progress over the past year and the life-changing impact we have had on the lives of the people we work with.

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the whole staff team, volunteers, partners, stakeholders and our trustees for all of your invaluable work and support over the year.

Last year we worked with 15,027 people and delivered 2,045 group work sessions, connecting people together in social and therapeutic settings. We built connections locally to support community health and wellbeing and worked together in our formal partnerships to delivered 13 contracts working with 39 partners across the city.

Our role as Community Anchor Organisation for Bramley and Stanningley continued working alongside our partners: Bramley Care Bears, Bramley Baths, Bramley Elderly Action, Bramley Housing Office and Schools Clusters'. Through the Household Support Fund we distributed £23,384 Fuel and Food support for 788 households. Our Healthy Holidays activities provided hot meals, food hampers, physical activities, healthy eating and wellbeing support for 528 children and 80 adults.

Our achievements include:

  • 59% reduction in Emergency Department attendances over 12 months by the Barca Outreach Support Team (BOST), leading to non-cash releasing cost saving of £1,654,488.
  • With support from the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) service 38% of children remained or returned safely to their parents’ care. 13% is the national average.
  • Over a 12 month period, of people supported by the Accommodation for Ex-Offenders (AFEO) team 89% didn't reoffend. 64% is the national average.
  • 299 community health and wellbeing groups and activities delivered across West Leeds by the Better Together team, including Yoga, healthy eating and a SEND group for parents.
  • Of the young people who accessed Nxt Steps one to one employment support, residential and workshops: 66% went back into Education, Employment or Training and 34% progressed towards Training or Employment.
  • 85% of people supported by the Engage Leeds team sustained their tenancies and are now more integrated and living independently in the community
