Leeds Family Drug and Alcohol Court celebrates 10 years of life changing service

In October 2025, we held a special event for the life changing Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) service that works restoratively with families, social care and the family justice system.

Celebrating 10 years of FDAC, the event brought together people from the past and present of the service to share their experiences and highlight the lasting positive impact created through the problem-solving therapeutic approach that the service adopts.

We want to thank Her Honour Judge Hillier for leading the event, and to Lord Justice Peter Jackson for your insightful keynote speech. A special thank you to the parents who shared their experiences of support.

It's an honour to be one of the few third sector organisations delivering this service in the UK.

Thank you to the Park Plaza Leeds for sponsoring the event.

About FDAC

The FDAC service delivers a trauma informed approach which aims to provide parents with an understanding of the problems that have put their children at risk of serious harm as well as supporting them to engage with a tailored package of interventions and support to overcome their problems within the Children’s Services and Court’s timescales.

Parents are supported to address issues of substance misuse, domestic abuse, poor mental health and any other related difficulties they may face. The team work closely with the family justice system, including specially trained FDAC Judges and other community services supporting the families.
