Barca-Leeds’ thanks go out to three generous people - Rob Worsnip, Munya Chaitezvi and Deb Hodgson - who have made donations or completed sponsored activities to top up the fund and help people in need.
Peter’s Fund was established in memory of our late colleague Peter Richards, who sadly passed away in 2020. It directly helps people who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless across Leeds.
From the initial donations made by friends and family of Peter, to the inaugural Peter Richards Memorial Football Tournament, Peter's Fund has now raised over £7,000. This has enabled us to provide vital resources, including laptops and other tech for people to complete training courses, seek employment and receive counselling online, clothes for families and children, transport for people to get to vital appointments and delivery charges for household essentials such as cookers, washing machines and other white goods.
Rob Worsnip said: “The Peter I knew was a great friend, a great manager both at Foundation and at Engage for 12 years, as well as being a ‘grumpy ol' git’ with a wicked sense of humour! On the 5th anniversary of his death I have made a donation in memory of good times and a good friendship”
Peter’s Fund is always open to donations – every penny directly benefits people making a fresh start - you can create your own sponsored event or simply donate here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/peterfund
