Step Forward establishes new employability support offer for NEET young people

Barca-Leeds are delighted to announce a new employability service supporting young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training to develop life skills and work readiness. Step Forward will provide one to one support for young people aged 16 to 24 where mental health is a barrier to them progressing towards work, employment or training.

The citywide service aims to build confidence, provide new experiences, develop life skills and ways to manage their wellbeing. Young people are supported to set goals and aspirations so that they can get the most from education, employment and training.

This activity is part of Healthy Working Life, a joint programme of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. Healthy Working Life has been created in consultation with residents and employers. It aims to deliver the Mayor’s vision for West Yorkshire to have the healthiest residents and workforce in England by 2040.
