The Building Bridges service supported the mental health needs of young people transitioning into adulthood.

Who is the service for?

The Building Bridges service closed in June 2025. The project was delivered in partnership with LS14 Trust and GIPSIL and supported the mental health needs of young people moving into adulthood through a programme of weekly groups and one to one support.

The project provided:

  • a supportive community where young people could connect with peers facing similar challenges.
  • an approach that addressed mental health concerns and also fostered understanding and support for neurodivergent individuals.
  • opportunities for young people to build a social network within a safe and supportive environment.
  • peer support and a sense of community among participants.
  • opportunities to take part in creative activities such as art and music.

85% of young people taking part improved their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
