The TFS Wellbeing Service provides one to one support and access to opportunities for children and young people impacted by parental drug and alcohol use.

Who is the service for?

Children and young people impacted by parental drug and alcohol use aged 5 to 16 years old who live in Inner West Leeds.

Direct referrals are accepted from agencies as well as referrals from Cluster Support and Guidance Meetings.

Families can self-refer.

The service provides practical support for children and young people, as well as interventions that aim to improve emotional health and wellbeing.

The team delivers a range of positive family experiences including:

  • group sessions and outings,
  • issue based group work, and
  • holiday activities.

Using one to one, whole family and group work methods, the service creates a nurturing space where young people can make new friends, build confidence and share experiences.

"Mostly I have been able to socialise a lot more than I could before, get out a lot more, seeing new people. It gives me an opportunity in school to be myself, a safe space to talk ... the nights [I have been to] group, I sleep better."
